The hair

Does this kid need a haircut? Clay and I keep going back and forth....is it too long? Does it look intentional, or do people just look at this kid and think he has lazy parents? It's funny, he has good hair days, and bad hair days. This particular day was a good hair day, according to Clay. We went to the park with a picnic lunch, threw the football and let Oski swim in the lake. Here are some shots we took...quite the mop, huh?

Oh, and Happy Fourth of July! We spent the day on Bainbridge Island with a bunch of friends. Funny, it was one of the best days we've had in a long, long time, yet we hardly took any pictures! Koen was out of his mind with fun activities. Our friends live on a huge plot of land with nothing but grass to run on. They have a trampoline, a kid-size swimming pool, a hot tub, a really cool playhouse and swing set with twisty slides, a massive sprinkler toy spewing water everywhere, and a mini, battery operated truck for the kids to drive around on the lawn. It was kid heaven! Koen loved driving the truck! He thought he'd died and gone to heaven! At first, he was a little jerky with his foot on and off of the gas pedal (I thought he'd give himself whiplash), but eventually he figured it all out. And would you believe we didn't get a single picture of this adorable event? He also played in the pool with the other kids for a while, even going down the slide, splashing in the water!

We let him stay up late for the fireworks, and he was in complete awe. We had a personal show on the island, but also got to see the city fireworks from the ferry dock. It was a beautiful day and night. I'm already looking forward to next year!

When you cut off those adorable curls things are different. I don´t know how to explain it but it is a milestone cutting off those baby curls, they never really grow back in the same way. So enjoy them.
